Help us to provide an all weather training facility for today, tomorrow and the next generation.
Harpenden Town Council are in favour of support for the proposal to convert existing land at Roundwood School, Harpenden into a full size, state of the art artificial all weather playing surface.
However, there is a risk that planning will NOT be granted and challenges are currently being considered.
What are the benefits for the club?
The all-weather floodlit pitch will answer the massive demand for training and competitive facilities for the school population, Harpenden Colts FC members and the wider community as a whole. Benefits include:
- A reduction in the distance traveled by our players, their families and our coaches.
- A world class level playing facility to coach in a far more structured manner thus improving the technical skills of our players.
- An improvement in the development of players, managers and coaches through a shared coaching environment.
- Building a closer knit club through the bringing together of age groups and coaches in one location.
YOUR VOICE COUNTS!
You can help to improve the community for today and generations to come by signing this petition. We have been working for over a year to make this a reality and now we're at planning stages, we need your help to give it the final push. Please sign today. Many thanks.

Many games this year had to be cancelled because of the state of the pitches, and this disrupted the season. An all-weather artificial floodlight pitch is a community faciIity that everyone would benefit from, extending potential playing and training times into the evenings.
Please support this fantastic club run by locals, used by locals and supported by locals but so far with no local ground to call their own. This is Harpenden at its best - but they need local facilities to thrive and develop.
My son has played colts football for three years. We have never had a local all-weather facility and this initiative is long overdue. I believe this will greatly benefit the school, other sports groups and some of the wider Harpenden community.
Much needed in a town the size of Harpenden. The youth of today get so much enjoyment representing the ‘all-inclusive’ Harpenden Colts. Inclusive in terms of both ability and gender. Teamwork & exercise are far better than staring at a computer screen or games console!
It is really important for the youngsters of Harpenden that we provide sports facilities locally. As a parent of a Colt and 3 children at Roundwood Park this all weather facility will keep them outdoors and will benefit many others for years to come.
A much needed facility which will greatly benefit the local community.
Disappointed that planning permission was refused, hopefully that can be changed on appeal.

Harpenden really needs a floodlit all weather training pitch, its a travesty players have to travel to Luton (creating additional car journeys every week) to find a suitable facility. So many people from Harpenden will benefit from the introduction of this facility
