Please sign our petition to show your support for our club to use Dumbarton Academy astro pitches on weekday evenings and at weekends. We believe that the pitches could be a great asset to The local community if our club, and others, could book them for our training and matches.

Dumbarton United AFC follow strict guidelines and this has Been recognised by the Scottish FA wherein our club has been awarded the SFAQuality Mark status at Community Award level.

Our club has held previous bookings on the original pitch at Dumbarton Academy, before the new school was built so it makes sense that the planning position should be reviewed and changed to allow the Community use to return to the new Astro pitches.

Dumbarton United AFC has over 270 players from this local community and many have to use training facilities outwith Dumbarton

I wish to show my support for DUMBARTON UNITED AFC to allow them to use theAstroPitches at DUMBARTON ACADEMYin weekday evenings and at weekend:

The emails I keep sending to the council are still going unanswered. It is exhausting to keep pushing for access that should have been granted months ago but I am not walking away from this.

This is a shameful capitulation by the council after someone complained about the noise kids were making while having fun playing football. Our council say they want our kids to be healthy but their actions suggest these are meaningless words.

What is the point of spending the tax payers money on astro pitches then refusing local football teams to use them...Just think of the money the council is missing out on with keeping the gates closed? ???Common sense please.

It is shocking that the sporting future of our young people is being hampered by a complete lack of common sense. why have this wonderful facility and not have it used by the community? please see sense and open these pitches for evening and weekend use!

Too right, the facilities they have are first class and it's a shame the local clubs can't benefit from their use....it's eother that or kids knocking about the streets with nothing to do which people would complain about too!!! Do it for the new generation, not the old!!

local teams need the support of WDC in being active in safe environments. DR used DA without problems pre new school and it a shame the pitches are lying unused outwith school hrs when they could be generating income for WDC instead of clubs paying private lets. All councils should support and help kids stay active

Anyone involved in coaching kids football in West Dunbartonshire will know how difficult it is to obtain decent training facilities and that's why our 2002 age group team are forced to train on a hockey pitch. The excellent facilities at Dumbarton Academy should be made available to well run clubs ASAP.
