The dog park is officially happening on post. I honestly thought this was just a long shot when I started, but you all turned it into a reality through your quiet persistence.

We as the dog-loving families of Hunter Army Airfield ask for the creation of a simple dog park on post.
When a dog has proper exercise they are less destructive, which may lead to less home damage, and fewer injuries to the dogs themselves. As well, proper socialization is vital to the health of your dog. Neighbors can get to know each other better and the dogs can have fun with other dogs.
The idea for the dog park is to add a sense of community for the on-post families; and give the off-post families a safe and familiar place to bring their dog. We want to give the members of each family, including the animals, the opportunity to come together and socialize and be a part of a greater family. The park gives the pets the opportunity to exercise and play so that they can stay fit, healthy and friendly, which allows them to live longer, healthier, happier lives.

This would be such an amazing thing to see happen. The yards on post are so small and don't allow for any type of exercise or real playing for large breed dogs. If post is willing to supply the property and fence, I am sure there are a ton of pet owners who would supply items that can me kept at the park for animals to play with as well as bags so people can pick up after their animals. I really hope this happens!!
My children ask to go out with our dogs all the time. It would be great to have a place to take them on base.
I would love my fur son to have somewhere to play since he isn't allow in the kids park with my kids.
My dogs use to go to the dog park everyday at are old post. I would to be able to do that again
We are PCSING here next March I didn't know there is not a Dog park with the small yard that housing provide a DOG PARK is the best and safe place for our pets to drain some energy with out a dog park, we are most defenetly find some off post with a big yard.....
It is much needed and great for our dogs

I have 2 large dogs and would love a larger area to let them run free than the small yards on post.
