Install an official and equipped dog park at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson for owners and their pets. This park should include appropriate refuse disposal systems, separate gated off areas for separating dogs and for resident dog training courses & sessions, dog watering stations, appropriate signage, and potentially agility & lure courses.

A direct quote from Colonel Patricia A. Csànk during the June 13, 2019 Community Action Council referred to "owners running rogue" at Cottonwood Park. "We have made it a priority also, on the installation, to go out to look at that area. Apparently, some of our pet owners have been using the baseball diamond that our children play in as a dog refuse point, and we're looking to clean up that area, too." This indicates that it may continue to not be supported as a dog park, but as a baseball diamond.

I was staring at the screen and just realized how much this has exploded in such a short time which is honestly wild since I just wanted a place for my pup to run without being yelled at by baseball dads. It feels like people actually get it now and the energy here is just incredible to watch unfold while I sit here drinking coffee and imagining those watering stations.

A dog park at JBER is important. we have wildlife here that we have to be more careful of than other states. We should be able to have a safe place to take our dogs for exercise. It

We had one on the base at fort Gordon! It was phenomenal. One thing we noticed is that people were afraid of losing it. So parties policed one another for keeping trash clean, dogs behaving, poop picked up and etc.

They give us the tiniest back yards and strict leash laws, the least they can do is let us have a dog park.

If the problem is not having ppl to pick up after lazy dog owners or regular lawn mowing why not make it a volunteer position? Why not ask for volunteers to help build it? Dogs need anything fancy. A proper disposal for waste a small water fountain, and a fenced in area is all is really needed. Ask for volunteers and watch the magic happen

Please put in a dog park for pet owners to have their animals appropriately release energy to reduce the possibility of them wanting to escape from their backyards.

JBER has several parks for children. For some of us, we don’t have children. We have pets. It would be great to have a space for us, too.

We love this park and it’s convenient for us and not in a bad area like the other parks. I would love to see something done with this to make it official and make it better for the dogs and owners.
