Recently the Wilmington Department of Parks and Recreation came to a decision that The Roberto Clemente Baseball League will not be allowed to play at Woodlawn Park. If you know anything about RC, you know that our league basically built Woodlawn Park. We raised $60,000 to put lights at the field, we also raised thousands to build the concession stand, and the field became a landmark in the city due to the efforts of our league. Our kids deserve the right to be able to play at this field. Currently one team from another league plays on this field. So basically 150 kids are being pushed to the side. Right now we need everyones help. We need parents, former players, sponsors, coaches, fans and followers of RC to stand up for our league. We will be passing around a petition, we need as much support as we can get. Also this Monday we are holding an emergency meeting at the LACC at 6:30. We need EVERYONE to come to this meeting. If we dont stand up for our kids and our league, who will?
