the council finally confirmed they are installing the traffic calming measures we asked for. im honestly so relieved and so grateful to everyone who helped push for this outcome. lets keep an eye on the road as the work starts so we make sure it stays safe for the kids.

I pass Gransha school on my way to work and have also seen some very near misses because of poor access to the school.
Absolutely disgraceful... the speed and inconsideration of drivers on the main road especially during school hours. It's our worst nightmare waiting to happen if action is not taken immediately.
No safe turning for vehicles turning into school, I've witnessed a near miss here were speeding traffic go to overtake cars turning right into school.
Dreadful speed of traffic passing Gransha NS. Also, it's dangerous trying to exit school car park and cars overtaking coming from Clones side. An accident waiting to happen.
I am very concerned about the dangers on the road infront of Gransha NS. Cars pass at a very high speed and overtake regularly. This could cause an accident when parents are turning right into the carpark or when they are leaving the school.
Shouldn't need a petition it should of been done already this is kids were talking about.
The kids need to be safe at all times.Its a very busy road and something needs to be put in place to keep all safe. Michele MC Cluskey

The main danger is the overtaking on the straight along with the speed.. A simple solar powered digital sign that is pretty common on the roadside nowadays that says slow down/no passing while kids are being dropped and picked up could be used.
