Petition: Richard Vlamis – Honorary Recognition
Many local heroes go unnoticed. There is one particular person who should be recognized for his outstanding contribution to the Scouting community and to the local community.
Richard Vlamis is a local resident of Limassol and in many ways exceeds the challenging requirements and expectations for the accomplishments that he delivers for the community, which make him highly deserving of the honour and opportunity
His skills do not end only with his personal work but also he projects a firm and fair attitude to all his associates, peers and members of his group. Richard has patience and with his admirable tact that is always used to organise and help everyone achieve their best. A motivational and inspirational figure with his humour and dedication to his community, going out of his way to help people in need by enhancing the activities beyond the realm of Scouting.
He has encouraged and exemplified the virtue of good citizenship, has touched and enriched the lives of so many others, devoted to sustain a selfless voluntary service to his community, and this has earned him, the respect of his peers and a role model in his field as a Scout Leader, he has demonstrated innovation and creativity in delivering lasting results and expanding plus maintaining 2 new scout huts in Limassol over the past few years.
For his significant contribution benefiting this community, we nominate RICHARD VLAMIS for HONORARY RECOGNITION!

I have been spending my evenings reading through the stories many of you shared about how Richard mentored you or your children. It is clear that the impact he has had on Limassol goes so much further than just the scout huts he built.

Seeing this kind of energy building behind Richard feels incredible because I have seen firsthand how much he pours into our community. This momentum proves that I am not the only one who recognizes his tireless dedication to those scout huts and the kids who use them.

I met Richard while serving in Kandersteg, Switzerland and his ability to lead and teach youth was most impressive.
Collaborate with Richard is like you have a father, a leader and a best friend in one person. This guy is an alive scout library.
Very well deserved and Richard has had a huge positive effect on my four children helping them through scouts to grow into polite, strong, caring, conscious young adults. Thank you for your patience, kindness, support and wonderful influence on my kids over the last 12 years.
Even though he doesn't like these sort of things, we honestly and truly want to say a massive thank you and show our gratitude for all his hard work, commitment and love for scouting, in some way!
Yeah, i believe richard deserves it. He is an outstanding person that has also helped me and guide me towards becoming the person i am today. Blessed to have had him as my mentore throughout my teenage years.
Great Leader and motivator for our kids
I can wholeheartedly recommend Richard Vlamis for an honorary award. Over the many years I have known Richard he has shown an unceasing enthusiasm for scouting and for the benefits this brings to all who participate with him and in his care. He exemplifies the role of a scout master, instilling both respect and self confidence in young people, both qualities sadly on the decline in our modern time. For this alone he should be recognised highly. However more than this one only has to be around Richard for a brief while to be infected with his boundless energy and positivity - qualities he passes on to his scouts and colleagues on a daily basis, unselfishly and quite unconsciously. I believe Richard represents a shining example of what a role model looks like, and I would very much like for this to recognised at the highest level.

Richard has been a mentor and leader to hundreds of youngsters in Cyprus from many backgrounds and countries. His enthusiam for scouting is infectious and never ending. Thank you Richard!
