Peter is the soul reason that I am now a professional musician. He saw in me something that no others did. I know that I am not alone in this and without him I truly know that I would be where I am today.
Peter, I treasure those years singing with you directing the RHS choral society concerts & always look for you playing the organ at the R Albert Hall Remembrance Services every year , & long may this continue. John CF.
A brilliant organist and musician. A great ambassador for his craft and for the RHS where he taught and encouraged so many young musicians with professionalism , energy and a wonderful sense of fun. He richly deserves to be honored for his many years of dedication and service
Peter Crompton inspired and nurtured countless young musicians. He also led the Boys and Girls of the Royal Hospital School in the Chapel singing with all our hearts on a daily basis. Where children may be shy and not want to sing he nurtured the culture of singing with all our heart in what we called the Holbrook Sound
I met Peter when he was the organist at St Martins Church - a small church in Talke Pits, Stoke-on-Trent. As a youngster and a junior member of the choir, I was always massively impressed with his ability (and athleticism) when playing, and creating such inspiring music - especially Toccata (Symphony No5).

I was a pupil at the Royal Hospital School when Peter first arrived. I wasn't particularly interested in music at the time, but his lessons started my long term interest in classical music. A man of great ability, who has given so much of his time to charitable causes deserves such recognition.
