Final supporters
I support the motion, which will be voted on by SDCC councillors on Thursday, seeking to rezone the vacant lands between Lucan Educate Together NS and Fforster Square from its current residential zoning to a new community/open space zoning.
This is the last undeveloped site in the area.
I do not want to see more houses or apartments built here. We don’t need more houses.
I want to see this site developed for community uses.
Particularly I want to the front of this site used to provide much-needed parking and drop-off facilities for the school, to improve road safety and traffic flow on Mount Bellew Way.

were getting really close to that 250 mark and the council members are definitely gonna notice if we hit it before the meeting. please help me push this out to your neighbors right now because we need to show them how many of us want this space for the school.

A school with no parking or set down facilities is unacceptable. Please kindly consider the chaotic scenes that are often visible in the mornings as a result of no available parking. Even the road side parking is so limited.. #PARKINGFORLETNS
As a father of three kids who are attending the LETNS I think this will be infavour of the saftey and wellbeing of the whole school community and the residents in the area. Thanks for considering this petition. Regards
Most of the other primary schools in the area have proper drop-off facilities e.g. local Gaeleagrus schools and new Educate Together school located next to them. Present arrangements are a danger to children and residents.
This site is a perfect setting for a drop off point for traffic going to and from Lucan ET School - this would drastically improve traffic flow and children's safety in the area. A part of the land could also be used as a community garden where residents could plant and harvest their own produce.
180th and 142nd Lucan Scout Groups could really do with some land to build a Scout Den. Both groups currently serving approx 180 children in this catchment area but renting in 5 different locations because we have no home. Community space badly needed in Lucan south.
I, Liam Cummins, being a resident of Lucan and the father of a child at Lucan Educate Together. Request all Council members support and pass the motion rezoning the designated land adjacent to LETNS for community purposes. In the interest of the health and safety of parents and schoolchildren. It is with great disappointment that I let you all know we have been unsuccessful in our attempts to be heard as a community. Motion 88 - allowing for rezoning of land adjacent to LETNS for community purposes has been defeated - and SDCC plan to construct 25 residential units on the site. Additionally, we have been advised that there is no funding available for traffic calming measures outside the school. I would like to thank all who have shared their views and their support through this process - and I urge residents in particular to continue proactively lobbying their Councillors ... as a school, we have no jurisdiction outside the school gate, and therefore, as residents, your voices are stronger than ours ... it is our fervent hope that the problem can still find it's solution .... thank you ... :)

There is enough congestion and concrete surrounding this school. A pleasant, green, community area for those using the school, or living in proximity would be very beneficial to the quality of life there as a whole. Thank you, Geoffrey Brennan
