It is with great disappointment that I let you all know we have been unsuccessful in our attempts to be heard as a community. Motion 88 - allowing for rezoning of land adjacent to LETNS for community purposes has been defeated - and SDCC plan to construct 25 residential units on the site. Additionally, we have been advised that there is no funding available for traffic calming measures outside the school. I would like to thank all who have shared their views and their support through this process - and I urge residents in particular to continue proactively lobbying their Councillors ... as a school, we have no jurisdiction outside the school gate, and therefore, as residents, your voices are stronger than ours ... it is our fervent hope that the problem can still find it's solution .... thank you ... :)

No more houses! Lucan has enough! School, children & parents need drop-off/pick-up facilities to/from school. Very real safety concerns must be considered.

I support the motion to rezone the vacant lands between Lucan Educate Together NS and Fforster Square from its current residential zoning to a new community/open space zoning. Already, the side streets in the area are proven to be not fit for purpose with an over-supply of cars clogging up the driving conditions. And with no real parking control system, many streets are being turned into narrow, single-car alleyways creating severely restricted access for residential tax payers to move around freely. Why then should MORE residential properties be added before the council sorts out the parking problems first?

This land is badly needed for community zoning. This land should be used to provide parking and drop off facilities for the children attending Lucan Educate Together National School. This is the last available space near the school that could be used to provide this much needed parking. The current situation is unsafe for children and needs to be addressed.
