City council has voted to increase the car tab fee against the will of the people. They brought it up previously 3-4 times and citizens said they did not want this. We need to remind these council members who they work for. Sign the petition to have this fee revoked.

I really thought this might just fizzle out in the void but the way people are showing up makes me think the council actually has to pay attention now. It feels like the tide is finally turning and honestly I keeps refreshing the page just to see that there are actual human beings who care about their wallets as much as I do.

Enough is enough. Vehicle licenses are a State revenue and a city should have not business adding to it. There are many struggling and that $20 could easily decide if they can pay for liability insurance or not.
We voted to have $30 license tabs a long time ago and no one would take our vote seriously, and kept bumping the fees higher. Now you're raising them again, after many have told you no, multiple times. Each one of you were put on the city council with a specific job and with a strict budget, if you cannot do your job and stay on budget, maybe this job is NOT FOR YOU.
Quit using taxpayer money irresponsibly. Show us where all the money is going. I’m sure you’ll magically be able to find money to fix roads that have been needing to be fixed for two years when you can’t use taxpayer dollars to pay for your gas and lunches. Can we get some honest council members who actually represent the people who voted them in please?
I can not afford this I am a single mom of 4 y take more when we can barley afford to get by with all these extra taxes
It's ridiculous that the car tabs are so much. You know there are people that don't have that kind of money. You are making it harder for those on a fixed income to do anything anymore
We don't not want this $20 increase in car tabs
I think the city of Yakima could get more revenue if they enforced our traffic laws.

It is the basic role of government to govern within the bounds of the resources. If you cannot maintain the current levels of services at the current level of taxation then it is time to eliminate, condense, or otherwise cut costs.
