Friends of Downtown Seattle,
We are in another difficult position where we are faced with additional costs in both living and working in Seattle. Mayor Durkan is considering a proposal to toll all vehicles entering and leaving Downtown Seattle. We must stop this! This will cause extensive repercussions to commerce, including retail, commercial businesses, physician and law practices, and restaurants, which are currently suffering from the high parking costs including the extension of hours to either 8 or 10 PM.
It will add costs to any tradesmen and vendors bringing goods into the City, not to mention burdening those of low income and those with children, who do not have the luxury of alternative transportation.
Additionally, it will result in a loss of revenue when people and businesses go elsewhere- as we will lose B and O Tax, parking lot and garage taxes (already at 20+%), sales tax, parking meters and even the exorbitant parking fines.
There is no surprise that we have congestion because the City continues to take away traffic lanes.
Please help me by signing this petition and send to your database so we can collectively inform Mayor Durkan that is this is unacceptable as we want to save and support our city!

This toll will severely impact small businesses and people with lower incomes. It is a terrible idea.
NO WAY - this will kill the downtown retail and businesses.
NO TO SEATTLE CITY VEHICLE TOLLS.
No new taxes, and absolutely no to the new proposed toll into the city!

What a crazy idea! Is Durkin trying to kill the City? This State is not business friendly to begin with, now tax the consumer. Roll up the side walks if this is put in place. How will it be implemented? CRAZY!
