At around 2:30 PM IST, on July 14, 2020, IITKGP administration issued a letter to the students saying:-

1. They have reduced the mess charges from INR 12,000 to INR 10,000, or in other words a reduction of INR 2000 for Autumn Semester 2020-21.
2. All the students are provided with a 2-week deadline to pay the semester fees, approximately INR 1,20,000 - INR 1,30,000.
3. The administration is planning to conduct the semester in online mode.

Since, the semester is going to be online, the students should not be liable to pay the hostel and mess charges which includes water and electricity. internet, accomodation and mess supply. Also, the students won't be attending the classes in the Nalanda Complex. Hene, there must be some sort of reduction in the tution fees as well.
