As I'm sure you know, party bosses and downtown bureaucrats in Erie County are trying to block a ballot referendum that would give voters like you a say in the size and spending habits of county government. If passed, the referendum would decrease the bloated County Legislature from 15 to 11 members and save taxpayers at least $4 million over 10 years.
The bureaucrats are trying to steal your right to vote on the referendum. They even went to court to silence your voice.
I refuse to let that happen. It's time we put politics aside and fight for progress in Western New York. I’m fighting for your right to vote on this referendum.
Last Thursday, we won the first round of this fight! The judge ruled in our favor to restore the referendum.
But they've appealed the judge’s ruling – wasting more taxpayer dollars in a frivolous attempt to silence your voice.
We’ll keep fighting this political ploy to thwart progress, but we need your help. Take a stand for progress by signing this online petition today to restore the referendum to the ballot.

I have been spending my time reading the notes you leave here and I am just stunned by the frustration so many of you feel about our county government. This movement really belongs to all of you because I never expected that so many neighbors would feel this exact same way.

The county government is way too bloated. Waste of money and space. Put it on the ballot!
So tired of my taxes going up while they live large. Let the people choose for once.
Total scam. They are just scared we will actually vote to cut their jobs.
Finally someone is doing something about these politicians. We dont need 15 of them sitting around collecting paychecks. Cut it down to 11 now.
They think they can just ignore us and run things however they want. Enough is enough let us vote on this thing.

Cut the fat. We need smaller govt in erie county.
