The school board tried to bury this issue but they cannot ignore the deafening roar of parents demanding better for their children. We have built a force that is finally making these bureaucrats sweat.

AAP and CDC state recess is a critical child need. A need. Critical. How does BASIS respond? Cutting recess for test prep and excess homework is way off-trend. BASIS is neglecting child health for its rep. Shameful. In addition, using recess for tutoring violates a vetted and longstanding ADE professional standard.
As my son stated 5th grade at Basis Peoria, his main complains were not about intense academics and extreme amount of homework, but primarily about not being able to catch a break in between classes. Additionally, recess is the only opportunity for these kids during the school day to learn social networking, to make new friends, and to understand rules of their little school community. They need such interaction to growth into fully functional members of our society.
Do agree kids need more recess break to be active and alert.
I would like every kid in school to have the recess and some physical activity. That way kids will be more active.
Recess time is nice to have for young minds.

Physical Activity is a very important part of children education.
