Reaching this level of support confirms that our community remains deeply committed to the arts as a vital component of the student experience. This momentum reflects a shared belief that the recent referendum should lead to the restoration of these programs rather than their continued absence.

My son who is now in college was both and athlete and a thespian. I believe that both disciplines are important in and individual’s formation. The art program deserves the same funding as the sport program. My incoming freshman deserves the same opportunities.

Drama is an integral part of our high schools. Whether performing, working on stage crew, managing the house, directing, assistant directing, students develop skills and responsibility. Please restore all Drama Cuts in D86!

I supported the referendum because it was the right thing to do. But there needs to be equity with the activities. For some kids, drama is all that they have. It needs to be a part of their experience in high school. Bring it back!

As a student who isn't involved in sports, the drama program is my sport. These are my closest friends, and we are all very passionate about what we do. It's helped us learn how to work better as a team, and provided us with leadership skills. Please reconsider the cuts.

We need theater in high school!!!! My step-daughter was a theater major at The University of Miami in Florida and her success both there and post college wouldn’t have been possible had she not become so involved in theater in high school!!!

The performing arts funding needs to be be fully restored with the passage of the referendum. For the students involved in the performing arts this is an outlet for their immense talent and passion. The arts should be treated with the same concern and respect as sports and academics.

My first four years at Hinsdale Central, in addition to being a teacher in the English Department, were to function as the technical director for the play, variety show, and the musical. In those four years I worked in the company is some Hinsdale's brightest, talented, and most creative students, creating some of its most memorable creative dramatic, comedic, and musical memories. I don't prize these memories more than those academic achievements or those on the football field, the basketball court, or in the gymnastic gym, all exempliers of dedication and striving for excellence, but, likewise, I do not estimate their value and qualities to be less held in esteem!

I voted so that we could elevate south to north standards. Both schools are equal is bs, if that were the case why would South Residents petition to go to North?
