We, the undersigned residents of W. 30th St. between 7th and 8th avenues, hereby petition the New York City Department of Transportation to impose Nighttime Parking Regulations on our block from Friday 7pm to Sunday 7am each weekend, removing vehicles parked overnight at those times. We understand Nighttime Parking Regulations have been imposed in certain blocks in New York City as an effective measure to alleviate noise, and we believe it would substantially improve our quality of life on W. 30th St. without affecting businesses in the area. Inspector Dequatro from the Midtown South Precinct has indicated that the NYPD would support We understand that Community Board 5 will resolve to direct D.O.T. to impose the regulation if a representative group of residents signs this petition and if there is no widespread community opposition.
