Residents and friends AGAINST the closure of Frederick and Bath Road junction, Bridgwater.

We the local residents and users of East Bridgwater are AGAINST the closure of the Frederick road and Bath road junction as part of the new EDF accommodation site.
We believe;
- There was a lack of consultation with local residents on this closure.
- The entrance to the new site could be else where and would therefore not effect this junction.
- The closure will cause build up of traffic entering and exiting from the other junctions.
- There will be an increase in traffic in and around the service roads, including Knowle road, Manor road, Fairfax road, Trevor road and Parkway.
- The increased traffic on the service roads may cause a danger to the many children and elderly people in the area.
- The convenience of on-road parking in the area maybe compromised by the increased traffic.
We the local residents of East Bridgwater are happy for EDF to build in our town, however, causing traffic problems and making unnecessary changes to the detriment and inconvenience of the local residents is just NOT acceptable.

to close such a commonly used road is just unacceptable. People rely on Frederick road to do school run, get to college, and even the care home. Not to mention the popularity of use for carnival carts in preparation for the big event.
It seems to me too much is being changed without consultation or a realistic view of traffic flow. Nor are cycle paths being included. There is more to Bridgwater than EDF traffic and work.
I cant understand why traffic lights need to be put on Bath Road & close Frederick Road when cellophane use to Employ a lot more people & no Road closure.What consultation ? I have never had a letter about it & I have lived in Fairfax Road for 25+ Years
There is an existing splay (old entrance) a few yards along Bath Road that could & should be used for the entrance to the site. This would then keep Fredrick Road open or an alternative to keep it open could be a roundabout. It needs to be kept open to allow the emergency services access to the immediate areas quickly, a few seconds onto their journey could cost a life.
This part cannot be closed. What about the residents. This is a joke. So emergency services have to go the long way round if a emergency. We often call them for my dad who has fits what about Sydenham house and the residents there.
this is just plain stupid, it will leave residents to exit estate by 2 junctions very close together. If they have to close a junction it should be Trevor rd. then people would have space between 2 roads to exit onto Bath rd.
Use junction regularly. TA7 8QL

It will mean a doubling of traffic trying to join Bath Road from Parkway, which because of parked cars will mean even longer queues. TA64LG
