We want to keep our charming East Cobb community the way it is......single family, owner-occupied housing, and low density. Many of us moved to this area for the quality of life and quality schools. The current proposal by Atlantic Residential to develop Sprayberry Crossing with high density rental units goes against the character of the community. The current proposal is for 132 "senior apartments" and 102 townhomes. They plan to rezone this area using the Redevelopment Overlay District, the first time in 15 years in Cobb history this provision will be used, and this zoning classification will no longer be used after this development. We are the guinea pigs for the one and only use of the ROD rezoning.
This will undoubtedly impact our traffic, schools, crime, and home values. We, voting residents of this community, sign this petition to show our elected officials we do not support the rezoning of Sprayberry Crossing with high density rental apartments.
Please include your subdivision name, if possible, so we can develop a map of petition signers to present to county officials. They need to know how their constituents feel.

We must keep this area residential and owner-occupied. Properties are kept because we care about this area. I want my grandchildren to stay here. Forcing us into this project is hurting our rights. We must unite and stay together to defeat Redevelopment Overlay District.
For those of us who have lived here well over 40 years, what seems to be developing is a travesty. This seems to be another case of a developer making a few quick dollars with no regard for the long term impact on the community.
Please no more apartments. Schools are over crowded and so are our streets. Property taxes are important for our schools. Look at the new trailer this year at Bells Ferry Elementary. Two new apartment complexes in that district this year.
it's an eyesore now but this is the wrong kind of re-development plan. How many thousands of new cars will pass through the intersection of E. Piedmont and Sandy Plains if this gets built? I suspect total gridlock will be the result.
More mixed use, interconnected sidewalks, green space, stores, restaurants, places our local community can walk to and use. Keep the cemetery. Put in some condos above the retail that are maintained by a condo fee/association along with owner of retail space.
East Cobb should not become an overbuilt, higher traffic, less green neighborhood. It starts small and then exceptions become norm.
I don't want this proposal.

This is NOT the area for this. We are in a housing COST crisis, and this will NOT help. This is NOT for "seniors" as it's not enforceable, it's only passable for zoning. At what cost to our neighborhoods are we willing to do this?
