Too many large cannabis growers are cutting corners in their grow operation and harvesting flower contaminated with pesticides, mold and other harmful elements. They are still allowed to sell their products to consumers by running their flower through various remediation processes like ozone or radiation.
This is a problem for several reasons:
- Cannabis remediation damages terpenes and cannabinoids resulting in less flavorful and less potent products.
- Remediation may kill dangerous molds, like aspergillus, but it cannot remove the mycotoxins aspergillus creates. These dead pathogens are known to trigger allergies or asthma.
- Consumers have no way of knowing whether the product they are consuming has been remediated or not.

Yea, the triggering of allergic reactions makes me mad…because I have experienced this recently since Ive been hired into a dispensary. Over the past 3 years I have kept track of all the different strains and growers that made me have some sort of allergic reaction that was more than unpleasant. I have never ever had reactions like this to weed up until now…
When cannabis is remediated is means it was not clean, quality cannabis to begin with. Zapping it with a laser to kill the components causing it to not pass testing does not ensure that it is safe for all users of both medical and recreational cannabis. By requiring packaging labels stating the product contains remediated cannabis, it lets the user know that this product at one time did not safely pass testing standards set by the state of Michigan.
It is so expensive in Illinois that I shouldn't be paying full price for mistakes. Tell the truth on the label and sell it at a discount or don't sell it.
The remediate cannabis should be labeled with a label that states that it, in fact, was remediate. Also, what the remediation was( what method was used ) whether it was irradiated or sprayed with chemicals and what chemicals. What type of mold or other reason it was written up for and what was the correction method and what was used.
At Better Daze we use third party auditors to verify that we use only OMRI listed products, no pesticides, and remediation or radiation. Envirocann is the company. We believe high standards should be the standard. #certifiedorganic

I am a heavy medical purchaser and I hate flower Remediation, it completely destroys the characteristics of the cannabis and is a cheap cop out for profit motives when you could just invest and grow better cannabis from the start.
