The Gambling Regulatory Authority has officially amended the directives to remove restrictions on field sizes and trainer entries. We are now shifting our focus to monitoring the implementation process to ensure these changes take effect across all tracks immediately.
The racing public requests the Government and the Gambling Regulatory Authority to amend the GRA directives, in the interests of the horse-racing industry and specially owners who invest in horses, to allow:
(1) all races to be run with fewer than 6 horses; and
(2) any trainer or owner to run more than two horses in any race.
We are approaching the 250 signature threshold for the formal presentation of our request. I need this goal reached immediately so I can submit the evidence of industry support to the Gambling Regulatory Authority.

Dear GRA.... This rule is absolute nonsense. Throughout the world we see races with 3 / 4 / 5 horses. I am also an owner and it cost a lot to invest in horses....and to see a race cancel because of limited horses, is just ridiculous. Come on there.

This rule should be abolished as trainers train and give specific food and vitamins to specific horses according to the forthcoming fixtures. And now 2 days prior for the horses to run, the race is cancelled due to insufficient number of horses in that race. That is so unfair to horse trainers, owners and also racegoers. Its high time to abolish this rule!

Let's put the industry first and make necessary amendments before it's too late. The actual situation is very alarming and very discouraging for owners, trainers, bookmakers, tote, betting public and the club....

Very Bad Decision of the GRA for not allowing races with less than 6 horses. If two horses has run for a race before (Le Turbo vs Gaelic Find).. why can't they run now. ATLEAST CHANGE THE MINIMUM TO FOUR HORSES.

I sign this petition for all the trainers who prepare their horses but who feel very disappointed when the races targeted are cancelled....

Very sorry to see that the people who are in charge of the Horse industry in Mauritius are useless.
