Petition in Support for Drag Race Under [LAT 13,360] - Use Of Public Streets For Public Events
Under regulations 68 (1) and 68 (2) of Land Transport (Traffic) Regulations 2000 [LAT 13,360 - Use of Public Streets for Public Events. This legislation allows the LTA to close off a public street for events such as drag racing. The drag racing scene in Fiji has been at a standstill since the Nanuku Airstrip is no longer permitted for racing use - with the last event being held in December of 2021 - which has prompted in illegal street racing which is dangerous to motorists and public road users. If the LTA abides by this provision in the LAW, Drag races in Fiji has hope of resuming once again.

I'm my honest opinion I think the authorities should look into this as we see nowadays youngsters resolve into illegal street racing as we want a safe place to have the car enthusiasm too live long
This is an actual good timing for this since alot of younger generation can learn alot....we uncs used to do it before...plus tourists would love this...as a drag racing happens worldwide so let's make this happen
Yes , as a Racer ,since track closer ,our cars are sitting ideal, with money spent on it Nothing happening since after 2021
If there is a legal drag strip that's available for the public to use i personally will help the police catch whoever is doing illegal runs on the street
Yes, we need a drag racing spot as we are getting more high performance vehicles in Fiji with alot of passionate car enthusiasts

It would safer for the community, riders in the community and people who partake in Motorsport if it was legalized with proper regulations and safety standards
