Our heartfelt demand is the reopening of Lemana College as a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution. TVET is recognized internationally for providing students with tangible skills – skills that are needed in the job market. As reported by UNESCO (2019), TVET equips people with the skills required to fuel economies and move societies forward.
Why does this matter to us? Because everyone deserves an education that goes further than short skill courses. A full-fledged TVET curriculum would equip us with the necessary depth and breadth of knowledge, enabling us to secure higher positions in big companies that require more than just a short skills certification.
We urge the relevant authorities to listen to our pleas: don't just give us training that benefits the institution and not the community. Open Lemana College as a TVET College in the Elim Area, so we can gain the skills we need to prosper and the chance to build better futures for ourselves. We support the petition of Lemana to be a Tvet college not to offer short courses.
A TVET College should be opened in order to empower the Elim community and neighbourhood villages and will enable them to participate in the mainstream economy in the Makhado Musina Special Economic Zone
To secure adequate sustainability for the community of Hlanganani and the surrounding,let the infrastructure be re-purposed for today's generation.Let the children not leave their parents for study purpose,Tshakhuma, Thohoyandou,Musina,Mutale,Malamulele and Sibasa have been catered for.What about the Southern and South Western Vhembe?It can't be that their only nearest institution is an Agricultural college,Mashamba campus.Life is not only dependent on farming,they need engineers,nurses and accountants.Govornment should act in their favor with immediate effect.
That's true we want a college which is nearby so tjat evwn those who are poor or who are unable to jave money for rent or for transport fee can be able to go to college
