We the undersigned request that the South African Ministry of education and the Free State Department of Education consider re-opening Boscobella Farm School near Hoopstad in the North West Free State in South Africa. The School is a dedicated and essential facility teaching 12 students between the ages of 7-14. The school has existed in this community for 30 years. It provides crucial social and educational opportunities to these students and their families living in such isolated circumstances. It was recently closed without consultation with the children or their families. These children are now faced with either forgoing an education entirely or being separated from their parents and sent to Hertzogville more than 30km away hoping to stay with relatives. As there is no method of transport available they cannot return to see their families. The students were receiving an excellent well-rounded education overseen by dedicated head teacher Mrs.Tlaleng Tshabalala. This school was a model to its peers, to its community and country. By shutting it down that same community and its\' children are deprived of the chance of growth, family, education and opportunity. We urge the Free Sate of Education to reopen Boscobella Farm School.
The Free State Department of Education is ignoring us, but they cannot ignore the fact that these children have been abandoned. I am currently hounding every official I can reach to explain why they think it is acceptable to rip these kids away from their families. Do not stop talking about this because their silence is a calculated attempt to make us quit.

The Free State Department of Education is finally feeling the heat because of your pressure. They thought they could bury this school in the shadows without anyone noticing but they were dead wrong.

My heart breaks for these families. forcing 7 year olds to move away from home just to get school is absolutely cruel and wrong.
