Request SBA reconsider exclusion of nonprofits from Restaurant Revitalization Fund

There are many qualifying nonprofit organizations who have been excluded from applying for the SBA managed Restaurant Revitalization Fund Grant and we are joining here with Oregon Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, as well as Congressional Members Peter DeFazio, Earl Blumenauer and Suzanne Bonamici in requesting SBA Administrator Isabella Guzman to reconsider this exclusionary policy. Application process begins Monday, May 3, 2021.
Reality Kitchen Nonprofit (www.realitykitchen.org), a 501(c)(3) organization, based in Eugene, Oregon, is cited as a model example of nonprofit organizations in the food service sector who should be allowed to make application for this vital funding.

Instead of concentrating on profits, we should give extra help to those who provide value outside the for-profit system. Let's save our non-profits!
Please take this very seriously and take action. It is really important for the people who work at the non-profit(s), (Reality Kitchen in particular), and the community they serve - many elders, those below poverty level, new families, people trying to make it on their own. They are a hub, a routine, and a positive energy for so many.
This business provides a welcome solution to a gap in our community. A safe, loving, hard-working experience for our young adults w/intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. PLEASE RECONSIDER and restore these opportunities to everyone.
Administrator Isabella Guzman, please reconsider the rule excluding qualifying nonprofit organizations from making application to this vital funding source. These organizations provide vital services to the community and stretch every penny and dollar making an even greater impact to the community.
I don’t know what the possible rarionale may be for excluding NFPs, but it should be changed. Reality Kitchen has the same need for support as any other small business, and is doing more amazing work than most.
Please include the nonprofits in the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, thank you!
Reality Kitchen is a valuable asset to the community as a non-profit business whose profits as a bakery & diner pay salaries supplying job opportunities that allow the mentally challenged to become active working and comfortably socialized individuals. This bill helps cover such businesses that originally did not fit into the parameters of recovery acts during the economic challenges it faced during the pandemic.

Please reconsider exclusions like this that put non-profit organizations like "Reality Kitchen" in jeopardy of closing down for good. There are too many business effected by these restrictions to allow them to be in place the way that they currently are.
