Memorandum to revise the price of land in Suryanagar Phase III

Subject: Request for revision of land price of Suryanagar Phase III

Respected Sir,

We are happy to know that the Govt. of Karnataka & Karnataka Housing Board is allotting sites & houses to the unsuccessful applicants of Suryanagar Phase II. However we are surprised to know that the cost of site has been increased to Rs.950.00/sq. ft. across the board which is very high compared to the price of Suryanagar phase II which was between Rs. 500 to Rs. 650/sqft in 2010. In this regard we would like to bring to your kind attention the following:

01. We feel that the price of Rs. 950/sq. ft. is on a higher side and unaffordable for middle class people who are eagerly waiting to have their own house in Bangalore.

02. It has been a long wait of 3 years for us with 25% of the amount paid as initial deposit, which most of us borrowed on loans and other means. After this long wait we were confident that KHB would allot sites to all applicants at an affordable price, but, the current price (Rs.950/ sq. ft.) has come as a surprise to all applicants across all categories, which is on a higher side for middle class people.

03. We understand that the cost of acquisition of land in Suryanagar Phase 3 has increased from KHB’s earlier estimates but proposed Rs.950/sq. ft. is out of reach of common people.

KHB is known for providing shelter to common people at very affordable price with good quality, with all due respect we all request KHB to please do quick re-assessment and re-consider the proposed price and reduce it appropriately so that it is affordable to all of us and help us realize our dream of having own house in Bangalore.
