We, the undersigned, call upon you to take immediate action to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. This law, enacted to protect access to abortion clinics and places of worship, has been weaponized against peaceful pro-life advocates, resulting in the suppression of our First Amendment rights and terribly unjust prosecutions.
Recent testimonies, including that of Paul Vaughn before the House Judiciary Committee, highlight the devastating misuse of the FACE Act. Peaceful individuals engaging in prayer, song, and advocacy for life have faced armed raids, lengthy prison sentences, and crippling fines under the guise of this law.
This misuse of government authority disproportionately targets pro-life Christians, as evidenced by the fact that 97% of FACE Act prosecutions since its inception have been against pro-life advocates. Such actions are an affront to our constitutional freedoms of speech, religion, and assembly.
The FACE Act has failed to serve its intended purpose and instead has become a tool to silence and intimidate individuals exercising their deeply held beliefs.
It is time to put an end to this injustice. There is no reason pro-lifers should face federal prosecution for participating in peaceful civil disobedience while climate activists, LGBT activists, animal rights activists and other left-wing activists are free to engage in civil disobedience activities with no fear of federal prosecution.
We urge you to:
- Repeal the FACE Act to restore equal protection under the law for all Americans, regardless of their beliefs.
- Hold the Department of Justice accountable for its misuse of the FACE Act and its targeting of peaceful citizens.
- Support legislation that protects the constitutional rights of all Americans without bias or discrimination.
As representatives of the people, you have a duty to uphold justice and protect the freedoms enshrined in our Constitution. The misuse of the FACE Act undermines these principles and must be addressed immediately.
We ask you to stand with us in defending life, liberty, and the right to peacefully advocate for our beliefs.

This misuse of government authority disproportionately targets pro-life Christians, as evidenced by the fact that 97% of FACE Act prosecutions since its inception have been against pro-life advocates. Such actions are an affront to our constitutional freedoms of speech, religion, and assembly.
If it is not feasible to repeal FACE, then please undertake to amend it with 'notwithstanding language' to counter the pernicious and punitive arrests of peaceful citizens witnessing to conscience and offering supportive helps other than abortion to desperate women.
Please repeal the FACE Act as it is unconstitutional and actively discriminates against a protected class of people (Christians) while they are exercising their 1st amendment rights.
Dobbs showed no Constitutional right to abortion. FACE is based on that supposed right, so it is not valid. Not only First Amendment rights of speech and assembly, but the rich tradition of non-violent civil disobedience makes FACE run contrary to American principle.
This law may have been well intended but has been weaponized and misdirected to persecute those whose convictions ran contrary to the agenda of the administration, targeting especially pro-life Christians. It must be repealed so that it can never be misused again by any future administration.
