Under the current Lautenburg Amendment anyone convicted in a Domestic Assault case is band from owning or purchasing firearms. It is well know that nothing was taken into account as to the degree or kind of the alleged assault. There has been hundreds if not thousands of lives that has been ruined by this amendment, the police officers that has lost their jobs, military personnel that has been discharged, simply because of one mistake. We would like to see this amendment amended to follow the individuals current state laws governing firearm ownership and purchase
