my name is jason i was conviced of felony-dwlsr traffic voilation and i beleave as americans we all need to pull together and change the felons gun right..It is now 2012 we all did our crime and did our time this 20years is just another way to keep guns out of our lives but come on we all need to stand up for our right now and change it… lets fight back and get our rights back now like our black president says its time for a change so lets change it theres a guy named george says witch i do agree with The Legislators have made an enormous amount of laws that were once simple misdemeanors into felonies. They want to take your/our guns away. It has nothing to do with crime. It is an attempt to disarm the general public. People without guns can not fight back. It is a blatant crime what they are doing. I believe, just my opinion, that if you do not use a gun in the commission of a crime, there is zero need to take that right away. If you use a gun in the commission of a crime, you deserve to lose that right, for that person is a proven danger to society. Unfortunately, we are all balled into one category = a felon. I’m not sure what can be done, if anything, but a petition with all of us participating sounds like a decent start. I have not since, even had a parking ticket. Yet, I’m not allowed to protect my property or myself or family from robbers that would break into my home.

The stories you are leaving in the comments prove that this is about more than just a label. Call your state representative today and demand that they distinguish between non-violent traffic offenses and violent crimes. Do not let them ignore us while they continue to lump us all into the same category.

April 20, 2013

The momentum behind this effort is undeniable and proves how many people are tired of being lumped into one category despite having paid their debts. Text three friends right now to bring them into this fight. We need to keep this pressure on our legislators until they recognize our right to defend our homes.

Business owner, husband, father, tax payer, tax payer, tax payer, voter, community server, state champion in shooting sports at age of 14, and a felon for driving too fast on a motorcycle being an irresponsible kid! All dues plus some have been paid back! All grown up now! I want my gun rights back. I'm an American!!

I did something stupid when I was young, over 30 years ago, I was convicted (to quote the judge "to appease certain members of the community"), I did my time, I learned my lesson, I've served in the army and been ISSUED a rifle (and trained to use it to kill!) yet I can not get a hunting rifle? WHY!

25 year old Felony DWI. Married , 4 sons, a grandson, got DL back, right to vote back but lost my Second Amendment. This is not right. I was not involved in an accident. I do not drink and attend Church on a regular basis. MADD has turned into an anti gun organization and has no right to dictate my constitutional rights.

If guns weren’t involved in the criminal act resulting in the loss of second amendment rights and they have no mental illness and violent crimes restore their rights . My wife can’t even have a firearm in our house for protection because of my DUI she also lost her 2nd amend ment right by association

Convicted felon here. Yeah that's right, when I was 19 I was influenced by negative things. However when I matured I became a very productive asset to society. Today I am a providing family man that believes it is in humane to deny me my right to protect my family exercising the 2nd amendment.

I just found out that my misdemeanor DUI from 15 years ago, no accident, no injuries, no property damage, no gun involved, is keeping my right to protect my home and family with a firearm away from me! And I want it back!

After 20 years a non-violent felon should be able to restore hunting privileges at least And after 30 years should be able to have gone privileges and rights as an American to protect yourself and family please send me any and all information on helping to restore our rights as American citizens
