I keep seeing kids trying to practice their kickflips in the alleyways just to avoid a ticket. It breaks my heart to see them pushed out of town like they are doing something wrong when all they want is a place to roll.

Seeing this kind of momentum reminds me of all the afternoons I spent trying to find a safe place to ride without being chased away. It is clear that this community wants to move past these outdated restrictions and finally treat skaters with respect.

my son just wants a place to hang out with his friends. maybe focus on the actual vandals instead of kids on boards
ridiculous that we have to go out of town just to skate. i grew up riding here and never caused any trouble. let us ride!

skateboarding is not a crime stop hassling us for just rolling down the street
martinsville needs to get with the times. everywhere else has figured this out already

Dress codes are important, yes, but this is taking it too far. Please, give us just a little more freedom with what we want to wear.
