Professor Charles Debus has been teaching for longer than I have been alive. He has been teaching for longer than my mother has been alive.
And his teaching contract is not being renewed.
This is unacceptable.
Charlie Debus is an amazing, talented, knowledgeable educator and artist.
He is THE only analog photography professor at SMU, and is highly respected by the students.
A personal friend of Ansel Adams himself, Charlie's wisdom and knowledge is invaluable to students and other professors alike, and to remove him from the program is criminal. He is passionate about teaching, and about teaching at SMU.

For several years recently I have had the pleasure to hosting Charles Debus's photography classes at Bridwell Library, where he explores the possibilities of book design with his students, opening their eyes to great things. Similarly, I have visited his classroom to critique their photographic book creations. All of this has convinced me of his excellence and value as a teacher for Meadows! Do not let this wonderful association come to a senseless end! Eric White, PhD. SMU
