Although the Stanton name isn't the oldest name in the block, it is definitely the most recognizable. This is because of one man, Warren Stanton. Warren moved to Bellerose from Brooklyn nearly 60 years ago with his parents. His family grew with this community and his family continues to live and grow in Bellerose.

While growing up he went to school here and managed to start a music band. He felt that this was the way life was always going to lead him. Everything was set, until Warren had another calling; to become a doctor.

After becoming a doctor he returned to Bellerose to open his office. He opened his office in the neighboring town and started treating the community. This was his way of giving back to the community that he grew up in.

His connection to 250th street is extremely strong. He grew up on this block. Then later in life his own family grew up on this very same block; in fact him and his wife moving only three houses down from his parents house. To make this connection even stronger, his family now lives in both houses. One son resides with his wife in the house that he grew up in while his own wife and four of his daughters still reside in the home where he has raised five of his children.

Warren was know as the mayor of the block, always helping out and lending his hand to whomever needed it. It was him and his family that started the yearly block parties on 250th Street. He can be remembered dancing and singing in the street to Sweet Home Alabama during the parties. He always was the life of the party and center of attention.

I belong to a family that has a long history in medicine. Dr. Stanton's personality and values reflected the values of the way the doctors in my family treated their patients. With kindness, generosity, and dignity. I will miss him. May he rest in peace that he left a great mark on his patients.
