- We, the residents of West Pittston, Pa, would like to petition the borough council to rename the small triangle park area at the tricorners of Wyoming Avenue, Delaware Avenue, and 3rd Street to the William "Bill" Hastie Memorial Park. In the event this area is unavailable, then we ask that there may be another area that can be dedicated to his memory.
Bill Hastie was a West Pittston resident who has recently passed away and we would like to honor his memory. Bill served as a past President of the West Pittston borough council, was a World War II vet, and pivotal in helping on the day of the tragic Knox Mine Disaster.
Thank you for helping to honor a local hero and valued member of our community.
