Hi, my name is Owen Sheed and I am a Junior at Darien High School. Today, Monday, October 15th, I ran in to the door to room B310 and had to go to the nurses office for an ice pack. I have yet to see a Doctor about the possibility of a concussion but it seems likely. This incident that occurred not only distracted my learning experience, but also the learning experience of the others around me. In one of the most prestigious high schools in the country, we should not have worry about silly things like doors getting in the way of our productivity. I, Owen Sheed, believe we should remove all doors from Darien High School. This, in many ways increases efficiency around school and overall makes it a more positive environment. This does not just solve the issue of having doors hit you, it also solves the issue of the school being too cold in the summer and too hot in the winter because the school will always be the same temperature that is outside. Of the several students I have talked with at DHS, they have said that they do not enjoy the new I.D. system especially the part where you have to scan in to the building. With my proposed plan this will make scanning in a thing of the past, this will make the students more happy and more enthusiastic to learn. As you can see, removing all doors from the Darien High School premises is the best choice admin can make. Please sign my petition to contribute to a better DHS experience. Thank you for your time, Owen Sheed.
