We, the undersigned parents, guardians, and community members of Santa Rosa County, demand the immediate removal of Kim McChesney from her role as Vice Principal of Gulf Breeze Elementary.

Mrs. McChesney has shown a repeated pattern of poor judgment and failure to protect students:

• In 2020, during a civil case involving inappropriate touching by a substitute teacher in 2017, she publicly dismissed the victims—calling them “dramatic” and “attention-seeking”—while defending the adult who later pleaded no contest to lewd conduct charges.

• In May 2025, her own son admitted in a recorded law enforcement statement to obtaining and distributing graphic child sexual abuse material. Despite this, he was permitted to participate in an event that brought him into direct contact with young children at Gulf Breeze Elementary—where Mrs. McChesney works in a leadership role.

We recognize the difficulty of being both a parent and a professional. However, when that role involves protecting children and fostering a safe school environment, personal conflicts must never override professional responsibility.

Allowing her continued presence at Gulf Breeze Elementary sends a message that child protection is optional. It is not.

We call on Santa Rosa County School District to:

• Immediately remove Mrs. McChesney from her position at Gulf Breeze Elementary;

• Investigate the decisions that allowed this breach of student safety to occur.

This is about trust, safety, and accountability. Our children deserve better.

As a victim of SA, I think it would be best to have her removed. Kids need a voice, and so many times they are dismissed by authority. If it was the other way around, she would have had that teacher removed immediately.

She should have already been fired. She should’ve have been fired when she blamed 9 and 10 year old girls for their sa by a substitute teacher but she definitely should not keep her job now! Ridiculous.

As an educator I am deeply concerned by this individual’s judgement and the district”s decision-making regarding her ongoing employment. She should not be in charge of any vulnerable population.

I support Ms McChesney being removed from her position as AP at Gulf Breeze Elementary School for allowing her son have access to children through the senior walkthrough after being under investigation for possessing illicit materials involving young minor children.

As a mother of two children at OBE, I’m outraged that he was able to enter their school, walk the halls and be cheered by my children. I’m disgusted. She failed at protecting my children and all the other children in our community. She needs to go.

Her, the principal, and the resource officer ignored my daughter that another 5th grade student had touched my daughter in the vaginal area. It wasn’t on video so it was dismissed. My daughter was homeschooled for the rest of her 5th grade year. She missed all of the activities with her friends.

This is a disgusting oversight on the part of the district and board. This principal should have never been allowed to remain as an administrator in the district or in contact with children after showing such poor interest in the plight of victims under her care or putting them at risk from her own predatory child. She should be fired and banned from ever teaching or working in any school in the state or any state again. And any attempt on her part to argue she doesn’t deserve that consequence should be met with her being told she’s just being dramatic and that she should have considered justice when she thought about the victims of her child and the ones she turned her back on. Sociopaths and pedophile enablers do not belong around our kids. Ever.
