The board has officially confirmed the change in leadership we requested. It has been an exhausting road to get here but I am relieved that we finally reached this outcome. We will stay focused on the classroom now to ensure things actually improve for the students.

Something is definitely fishy with those investments. THORNTON NEEDS TO GO NOW.
He has been a disaster for this district. My kids deserve better than what he is giving them.
Total incompetence from the top down. Why is he still here???
My son came home frustrated every single day last year. Enough is enough.
Glad to see people finally speaking up about this mess. The board needs to open their eyes and fire him already.

Absolutely ridiculous that school board members gave their approval to extend his contract after the destruction of Meckenburg County Schools. Not only does Dr. Thornton need to be removed each of the board members that voted to extend his contract need to go also. They have proven that they do not have the students' best interests at heart.
