Several years ago the city, after a trial period, formally opened a dog park adjacent to the Willow Oaks park's playground. While there may have been some community commotion at the time -- space constraints and all -- that's long been forgotten. It's now a permanent and popular destination for dogs and owners. Let's please find a similar successful solution for everyone -- dogs, owners, kids, and youth sports families -- at Nealon Park. Absolutely, dogs deserve their own space to run and play as much as kids deserve their own space to run and play sports -- poop free.

I fully support relocating the dog park off of the baseball field. The field is well utilized mostly by children and it becomes unsanitary at times (and hazardous with holes, undulations in the field). Thank you for considering relocating the dog park.

Please relocate the dog park off of the baseball field. The field is meant for humans. I am tired of cleaning dog poop off of my sons cleats and uniforms. I am a dog owner and love dogs, however, I never would bring my dog to a park in a field were people play baseball, softball and soccer. The dog park should not have been put on the field in the first place. Thank you for deciding to relocate the dog park. This will be better for the people who use the field as it is intended to be used, and should allow the dogs a place to play at any hour of the day.
