With regard to the new dress code at our club.
I am sure you have all noticed the very restrictive new dress code which is being imposed on us by the " Member Led Dress Code Task Force " and I am quite sure many of you have found yourself in a position where you can no longer enter the ADULT area just because you may be
Wearing flip flops or non leather sandals!
Wearing faded jeans?
A"mock " turtle neck?
Shorts on a day that can be in excess of 30 degrees centigrade outside of the summer months?
The club to which we all belong and to which we all pay our monthly dues is restricting access to its members for what seems like very spurious reasons. Are we a family club or are we a business centre?
The dress code at the club has become increasingly strict over the past few months and whilst it may be argued that many of these dress rules were pre-existing, they were actually only enfoced in the old formal area of the club, ie in the American room. Now with the new design of the club, the Formal Area and the Adult area has become one and the same.
There is no place for adults who have a more casual or contemporary dress sense to go to enjoy a cup of coffee or a light lunch away from children unless they abide by the new dress code.
This has had the result of alienating many members and causing a stressful situation where members are feeling unwelcome in their own club.
The object of this petition is to show the management at TAC that many of the members disagree vehemently with the dress code restrictions and would like to see it relaxed.

I often wear a hat or a head dress for religious reasons, now I'm continually being asked to remove it. This ignorant dress code has to stop.
I can understand being turned away for wearing workout clothes but when wearing linen pants a nice top and Tory Burch leather flip flops is beyond ridiculous.
Wore a crew neck cashmere sweater the other day and was told I had to carry a jacket with me to my table, embarrassing and uncalled for.
I am a member and disagree with the strict clothing rules during warm months- I want the club to adopt the 'warm biz' approach as undertaken but most major corporations during our long, hot summer
I totally agree. The dress restrictions are far stricter than most high end restaurants. They seem to be in place to uphold a business centre type feel in the adult area. The result being members are made to feel unwelcome in their own club
TAC should concentrate on providing good service to members and not on causing them irritation and inconvenience. I agree that there should be no code. Guidelines are OK so long as we can ignore them without question.. Good idea on Tell TAC - going to write one now.
One of many misguided policies at TAC. I'd love to understand the rationale behind them. There are so many other places in Tokyo that I'd rather spend my time (and money).

It is first and foremost a members' club and not a business organization; the dress rules should be guidelines and flexible unless clearly offensive and or inappropriate
