As you will no doubt be aware {stated in the last Newsletter} Tessa Duke, Kate Shearman and Nardi Ling positions have been made redundant at Tactile Arts and they are therefore dismissed. Kate is sadly leaving the organisation anyway and so reinstating her is not applicable. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Tess and Nardi are both really dedicated hard workers, I've always been impressed with their level of commitment to Tactile arts. They've always been super helpful during any work I've done through out the space. It is beyond me as to why they would no longer have a job with Tactile as they are both extremely capable.

I was very sad to hear that these women have been treated so disrespectfully. I question whether a four person board has the quorum to make these abrupt changes without consultation with members? Where is the strategic plan that supports this 'secret' new direction? Why are these positions made redundant when any one of the sacked staff would be more than capable in filling the new position?

Always viewed the girls as dedicated, hardworking and passionate who took an interest in the members. They had their ear to the ground and were best placed to work in such an organisation. Shocked at their dismissal. Why hasn't the board responded yet ??? They must be hearing the rumblings ??

Wide sweeping changes to the understood workings of an organisation and its' staff are not made without membership input.

I am a fairly new member and am shocked at the way the restructure and staff dismissal has been handled.

I was shocked to learn about this. It came like a bolt out of the blue with no consultation. I think the girls are doing a terrific job and their roles should be reinstated asap.

I have been so impressed with how hardworking and innovate Kate, Tessa and Nardi have been at promoting artists and creating opportunities for them. This type of action changes the culture of Tactile Arts and I doubt I would want to be part of that. I feel bad about their treatment.
