On 9/17, Taylor Sherreitt (aka Miss Taylor), a beloved preschool teacher in Carlsbad, was wrongfully terminated from her job of over 15 years over a social media re-post that strongly condemned hateful views and recent political violence.

Her church board was sent an anonymous email with a screenshot of her repost that demanded her dismissal. Instead of investigating more about the still-unidentified sender of this email or pursuing more moderate action to show grace towards this dedicated mother and educator, the Redeemer Board decided to end her 15-year legacy of joy, compassion, and professionalism in the classroom for expressing her own personal views on her own personal account on her own personal time.

If the Redeemer Board can listen to a single anonymous source to take such drastic action against one of their own, we can only hope they will listen to an overwhelming chorus of voices to ask that she be reinstated.

Please also consider giving to Miss Taylor's GoFundMe to help support her financially during this turbulent time: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-miss-taylor

**In the event that this petition is honored and she is reinstated as a teacher, all donations will be fully refunded.**

She has stood up for her students for 15 years and never let her politics into her classroom, and still hasn’t, and wouldn’t. Don’t let one angry parent ruin it for the rest of us.

I hope the original anonymous complaint will be reconsidered and that this woman, considered such an exemplary teacher, will be reinstated. We should not be jumping to conclusions that can destroy people’s careers so quickly.

Redeemer was school we had strongly considered for our first child and it is on our list for second. However, this kind of actions—to violate free speech and protest to hateful behavior is really disheartening. I sincerely hope Ms. Taylor will be reinstated and this school and church board will be more mindful of the image it wants to portray.

My daughter had Miss Taylor as her teacher and absolutely adored her. My son also had her for summer school and she was a favorite. She is kind, patient, loving, smart, and beautiful inside and out. We are grateful to have spent time with her and you seriously need to re-evaluate your stance against her, it is unfounded.

As a Christian School, I would hope that the board members would recognize that Jesus would condemn all hatred regardless of political views, just like Miss Taylor!

I am absolutely disgusted by the actions of the school. Silencing educators for exercising their right to call out harmful rhetoric is unacceptable and sets a dangerous precedent. Teachers should be supported in fostering critical thinking and standing against hate, not punished for it. I urge you to immediately reinstate her
