The museum finally caved and committed to bringing back the Science Minors and Achievers program. We forced their hand and proved that stripping away opportunities from our youth will not happen on our watch. Keep your eyes open to ensure they actually follow through on this promise.

For so long, the MSI Science Minors/Achievers program has helped develop and shape young minds, allowing a platform for students to grow as communicators and leaders. Recently, however, the program's staff has been let go and the program has been terminated for the foreseeable future. Each Saturday, teenagers throughout Chicago would gather at 9:00 a.m. at MSI rather than hanging out with their friends and immerse themselves within the programs, creating bonds that transcend the program. Each Saturday, we would present to museum guests. Each Saturday, we would work to fulfill MSI's mission and inspire the inventive genius in museum guests, getting kids and adults alike excited about different scientific concepts. MSI's Science Minor/Achiever program was unique within the country and allowed a platform for us to learn, teach, and have a blast. Please sign this petition and help reinstate the MSI Science Minor/Achiever Program.

The administration at MSI thinks they can just sweep this program under the rug and hope we go away quietly. We are almost at 500 signatures so blast this link everywhere to make sure those cowards in leadership cannot ignore our momentum any longer.

This program has been amazing for my son. He has become more vocal because of his experience at the museum. Interacting with the museum patrons has brought him out of his shell. This program is very much needed.

The science minors and achievers program is more than just a Saturday activity, it is a family of like minded individuals pushing each other to a common goal of success. This economy may rough now and budgets are being cut, but this is the group that breeds the individuals to fix such problems.

I cannot believe the museum is getting ready of this program. I was part of it and it put me to where I am today. It provided me the skills, education, passion, and experience that my regular school never gave me. This program saved lives.

I was just telling my 14 yo that we were gonna sign her up this year! My sister and older daughter both were a part of the program and I think it’s great for our kids; it teaches them so much far beyond just science

This program has truly allowed me to grow into a mature intelligent man who is confident in himself. Before this program I was a timid shy kid, I'm now 18 but I want other teens to have the opportunity to experience and grow from this amazing program.

I’ve volunteered with Science Achievers for 4 years and it has been a defining program in my life. I’ve grown so much through volunteering at MSI and it kills me to see a program so unique within the country be terminated.

Do any of you have any referrals for our students this summer in the Chicago area. My church student, as others are saddened that the program is cancelled, she is an active participant in this program. THANK YOU, PLEASE SEND IDEAS
