The leadership at St. Martin's finally backed down and reinstated Peter Schubart to his position. They ignored us for too long but 335 signatures forced them to face the clear truth. Stay alert because we will keep watching them to ensure this decision holds.

The leadership at St. Martin's is ignoring us because they think we will go away quietly. We need to hit 250 signatures right now to prove that Peter Schubart still has a community fighting for him. Send this link to everyone you know and demand they sign immediately.

The leadership at St. Martin of Tours is ignoring us but they cannot ignore a triple digit headcount at their front door. We are inches away from our first major milestone so push this out to everyone you know right now.

Over the past 40 years conductor Peter Schubart brought to Saint Martin‘s parish a level of sophistication and quality of experience unrivaled by other parishes in New York. His music and musicians are precisely what made Saint Martin’s a special place to worship.

Mr. Schubert is the best !! Not only did he create beautiful music for our wedding but 13 years later he inspired our son to play his instrument in church. Mr Schubert is a kind man and he was a treasure to have at St Martin’s . Please reinstate Peter, if he’d even come back.

Peter and his family have brought another level of joy to this Parish for as long as I can remember. Our girls sang in the children’s choir and are now grown and they cherish those early years under his direction. His expertise and humanity is greatly needed now more than ever. Please bring him back.

Although i no longer live on Long Island I was a st martins parishioner for more than 50 yrs and I am so sad to. Hear this news. Music was always such an iimportant part of the parish. I cannot believe that a pastor would do this without consulting the parishioners. What a terrible loss!!!

A true talent who was the heart of St. Martin’s celebrations. And a great guy too. Was a pleasure to work with. He lent his talents every year to help Outreach at our annual Lessons & Carols fundraiser. I will never forget the music of my farewell Mass. Good luck! Merry Christmas.

"He who sings prays twice". St. Augustine. What a gift to have the Music Ministry at SMT. It enhances the meaning, message and depth of the Mass. Losing it now, perhaps when needed most, and in the way it was summarily discarded is a travesty.

When SMT was closed because of the pandemic, I could not wait until the day church reopened. It was such a wonderful day and I was so happy. Naturally it was different because of the COVID restrictions, but what struck me the most was the absence of Peter Schubart. His music made me feel as if I was in Heaven. It added so much to the Mass. I have never attended a Mass elsewhere that had an organist as gifted as Peter. I pray that you find it in your heart to reinstate this fine man of God.
