When SMT was closed because of the pandemic, I could not wait until the day church reopened. It was such a wonderful day and I was so happy. Naturally it was different because of the COVID restrictions, but what struck me the most was the absence of Peter Schubart. His music made me feel as if I was in Heaven. It added so much to the Mass. I have never attended a Mass elsewhere that had an organist as gifted as Peter. I pray that you find it in your heart to reinstate this fine man of God.

My parents started playing with Peter in the 80's and for years after. His leadership and the music he creates are a huge part of the heart of the church!

I have known Peter since my husband and i moved to Amityville in 1986. We joined the St. Martin of Tours folk group and it was and still is one of the greatest gifts that God blessed us with. My husband, Kevin, passed away in 2010. Peter came to visit him while he was in hospice. Music and singing is by far praying twice to God as St. Francis tells us. such a dedicated music director. You can’t get better. God Bless You, Peter. Please do the right thing and reinstate him in these tough times we are living through. Thank you.

Have always enjoyed Peter's music enhancing the solemnity of Mass especially at the Holiday season. His ability to coordinate a full orchestra is outstanding and he is sorely missed even at the regular Masses. His replacements are talented people but can't hold a candle to the talent of Peter. He is dependable and is able to adapt readily to any situation. We need Peter back to enhance our experience at Church.

I have been attending the concerts at St. Martin's for over 20 years. The performances are beyond inspiring. I was dismayed to hear that this most vital component of St Martins has been eliminated. What were they thinking? How could such a talented man as well as a gifted and dedicated family be taken away?

Over the past 40 years conductor Peter Schubart brought to Saint Martin‘s parish a level of sophistication and quality of experience unrivaled by other parishes in New York. His music and musicians are precisely what made Saint Martin’s a special place to worship.

Mr. Schubert is the best !! Not only did he create beautiful music for our wedding but 13 years later he inspired our son to play his instrument in church. Mr Schubert is a kind man and he was a treasure to have at St Martin’s . Please reinstate Peter, if he’d even come back.

Joined the Parish when I moved to Amityville 4 years ago. My breath was taken away the first time and every time thereafter when I experienced the moving music during Christmas and Easter services. I was spiritually moved and felt so blessed to now be a part of the Community.

I will have no hesitancy in changing parishes if Peter is not reinstated.
