1st Lt. Denis Edmondson was recently relieve of duty. Denis is an amazing person dedicating his free time to Bolton Sea Cadets for many years. Training Bolton's youth to become respected and self disciplined adults. This quote from a past cadet says it all 'Lt Edmondson was the commanding officer of Bolton s.c.c when I was a marine cadet 8 years ago. He was present whilst I was a cadet and a member of staff once I'd turned 18. In all that time Lt Edmondson was nothing but professional, extremely hard working and always had the interest of the cadets as his priority. Lt Edmondson was always going above and beyond to ensure the unit ran smoothly! Whether this was when the unit was in financial difficulties and he was organising fundraising events or when the cadets were on the water at Barrow in Furness! It was my time in the cadets that inspired me to join the Royal Marines and Lt Edmondson played a large part in that. Without Lt Edmondson at Bolton s.c.c there is no doubt in my mind that the unit will suffer greatly! The cadets will ultimately suffer and in my eyes that is unacceptable! I strongly hope you change your minds as I see this as a big mistake!'
