The Peterborough Panthers Speedway Consortium (Forever Panthers Consortium) aims to preserve the sport of motorcycle Speedway in the city of Peterborough.
Following the eviction of the team from the East of England Showground due to its proposed mass development to build 1500 houses and associated leisure, the Speedway team are currently homeless.
Speedway, which is a fantastic, family friendly sport, has operated at the Showground for 53 years. We believe that Speedway should be included in any development plans; the Showground can still be a great location for the Speedway team, one that a growing community can enjoy exciting top class sport, just as generations of Peterborough people have done for over half a century.
We have a great relationship with our local Parish Council but we still need to show local decision makers how much support the Peterborough Panthers Speedway Team enjoys, locally, nationally and internationally.

A speedway supporter for 40 years, many trips to Peterborough, i lost my own team to a housing developer, 6 years later the site sits exactly as it was left in 2018, do not let Peterborough become another victim, there is demand for the sport.
I have seen peterborough lose the stock car track which was a massive shame the closest one is now kings lynn, I used to watch speedway religiously with my grand parents and I'm hoping I will be able to do the same when I'm lucky enough to be a grandad.
Disgraceful that the Council can choose to ignore the terms of the land contract. Peterborough needs speedway and the Council cannot throw out the Panthers without finding them a new home. They just want to evade their lawful obligation.
Peterborough speedway is an local, National and worldwide known institution that ran at the EoES for 53 years. Any redevelopment of the EoES should include retaining the track and stand where speedway was held. Afterall the Arena is being retained in the plans.
Peterborough speedway track is one of the best in the country for great racing. It is a ridiculous to suggest that Peterborough speedway fans could go to Kings Lynn instead. That is like saying it is ok to close Man Utd Football club as fans can go and watch Man City. Just ridiculous.

Peterborough Panthers Speedway should be brought back to the East of England Showground. The Speedway events bring many fans into the local area, supporting local businesses. It is appalling that ground where peoples ashes have been scattered has been removed.
