Have the HGHS Yr 13 Activity Fee Refunded
HGHS Yr 13 students are required to pay a $30 activity fee each year for their 'Fun Day'. This year our fun day has been cancelled by the school due to 'lack of planning, time etc' but are NOT refunding the students who have already payed the fee. Instead our parents money is being used on: - Yr 13 leavers roses: a gift the school has paid for in previous years - The Hamilton Girls' High Foundation: something us Yr13s will never benefit from as we are leaving - Common Room maintenance: there is an account for cleaning products etc that the school did not tell us about till last term - Yr 13 Leavers Dinner: the cost for a ticket is already $75pp, this means a portion of our activity fee is being used on a 'surprise' or to cover costs for the dinner as not enough tickets have been purchased. WE DON'T WANT A SURPRISE AT THE END OF THE YEAR. WE DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR OUR OWN ROSES OR DISH WASHING DETERGENT. WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK! This is an unfair use of our money, the school receives payments for each subject and a school donation, plus any additional fees for sports teams and uniforms. They cannot say we are paying an activity fee on our school bills when they are using the funds for other purposes as it is FRAUD and is a crime and a civil law violation. Please sign to support the Yr 13s and have their money refunded!
