We, the undersigned are petitioning the Reflection Isles HOA Board, which approved the installation of the new speed bumps without putting it to a resident vote. We are asking for the expeditious removal of the speed bump in the resident lane only

Updates

July 31, 2018

I have requested a formal meeting with the board members to discuss the lack of community oversight regarding the installation of these speed bumps. While I await their response, I encourage everyone to continue documenting the disruptions this change has caused to our daily commutes.

July 31, 2018

The level of engagement regarding these speed bumps confirms that many residents share my concerns about the current traffic management. This momentum suggests that our grievance is valid and necessitates a formal review by the board.

The speed bumps are not really a problem it is more like where they put them & how high. A sports car cannot go over it without scratching the car. I do agree they should have voted & definitely a dog park would be more useful!

I do not understand how speed bumps will lessen gate mishaps. You cannot really go fast thru there and I have never noticed any resident speeding through. Speed bumps are a pain in the "bump"

Understand this is where children take the school bus. Has anyone been caught speeding there?

The speed bumps serve no purpose as they are. We need the right to make these decisions and it seems to me like so many things are left up to the board. I am sure there intentions are good but we all need to have a say in something that affects us on a daily basis.

Speedbumps don’t seem to be the best solution for gate strikes. The best solution in my opinion is to have the gate arms open independently. One side for residents and one for guests. When both side open it can cause confusion and one can assume it is opening for them when it is not. The first speedbump is right around the corner and is hidden. That is very poor placement and should be removed. The bumps on the guest side really aren’t needed either because people are slowing down already or starting from a stop.

There was no need for additional speed bumps especially since you are coming around a bend. A sign to slow down would have been more effective and less annoying. In addition to less costly.

Another rather thoughtless decision.
