Electricity - 14.59%
Water - 8.5%
Sanitation - 8.5%
Refuse - 4.9%
We residents of Ethekwini pay exorbitant highest property rates in the whole of South Africa, that's ridiculous. We have the right to demand municipality reduces all our tariffs.
Our people cannot afford this and yet why are we complacent. We need to take action now.
I have been actively driving this petition campaign, we need 10 000 signatures minimum.
We will bring change to our municipality to help our communities.

Seeing the numbers climb like this reminds me that I am not fighting alone in this struggle. The weight of these utility costs is crushing many of us but this shows the municipality that people are finally reaching their limit.

This is ridiculous. Our suburbs are targeted for continuous increases while our African brothers all over SA have a free supply. Eskom also sells power cheaper to our neighbours while we pay more. I have travelled most of SA and have seen first hand how most places are lit up like a Christmas tree throughout the night because it's free. I have seen areas that have power outlets fitted to street lights to provide power to the homes on the streets and i have had African brothers and sisters tell me that just sometimes in their areas they pay R10 per month for electricity and the water is free. We want equal rights for all. Just give us that and stop being biased and racist.... Simunye,we are one ... Treat us all the same.
It's an absolute crime to cheat honest hardworking citizens of their money. We know that we need to pay for services but there is no need to overcharge. The people this country are already in so much of pain and are struggling to make a living. Why does the Municipality over charge on Utility bills. We need respite from this reckless management system that is definitely out to screw the citizens of this province
She is very qualified for this position. She understands the needs of her community.

We are pensioners and really cant afford the absorbent increase in our utility Bill's.its a crime committed by the Municipality.
