All who have signed this petition believe the six month suspension imposed on Jimmy Villegas for the altercation at the 2024 Spring Seiger Show by the URKA board is too extreme of a punishment. We petition the board to reduce or remove the suspension.

The momentum behind this appeal is undeniable. Thanks for keeping the pressure on the board.

I don’t know Jimmy but I was at the show. Jimmy’s son was being verbally assaulted. I saw the spit literally flying from the older guys mouth as he yelled and got close up to his sons face overreacting about a dog using the bathroom at a dog event. This fine and suspension is not right. Jimmy was being a dad. The man yelling was being a rude jerk to a child !

I don’t understand why Jimmy is being fined. Why is the club involved in a civil dispute between two individuals? This is a dog breed club, not a police department.

This is not the message you want to send to you membership and this ruling will hurt the new clubs trying to get started. Especially the Indiana club that is in a tough position to start with.

I first met Jimmy in Nashville back in 2022. It was my first time handling a Rottweiler in a competition. Jimmy went out of his way to show what to improve on and change. It ultimately made me do way better when competing. He’s a great guy and I’ll always respect anyone that cares more for the breed then being place on the top of the podium. Justin Saar from Canada

I am asking that Jimmy's fine be reduced and given probation. Jimmy was never notified nor was he given a chance to defend himself before punishment was imposed.

The fine is excessive, he was already penalized for having to leave the show in which he was defending himself and his child. I think it is a petty and poor reflection of the board members that are not offering any support for a longstanding member. But rather to impose the harshest fine on a member in good standing is nothing more than an abuse of power, especially since a voting board member has a clear conflict of interest with the property owner. If voting is at a tie then common sense dictates the maximum fine should be no more than half of the maximum as stated in the by-laws.

My understanding is that there were extenuating circumstances that provoked the situation.

Unfortunately, situations potentially escalate, and if there are patterns of behavior, they should be addressed as soon as it happens. I think it’s unreasonable that Jimmy should have been suspended by the URKA board. They could possibly have averted this problem with diplomatic measures.
