BUS STOP REDDAWAY DRIVE EXMINSTER DEVON
Following the introduction of double decker buses on the No 2 route to Torquay our lives have been blighted by the intrusion of people looking into our rear windows and gardens and intruding into our private lives. We successfully campaigned for 2 years to move the bus stop in Reddaway Drive situated directly behind our properties and this was moved by Devon County Council in October 2009, following an admission that our privacy was indeed being invaded on a daily basis.
Now however, a total of 76 local bus users have raised a petition to have the bus stop reinstated outside our homes because they are ‘inconvenienced’ by having to walk a further 150 metres up Reddaway Drive to the new stop. The local Parish Council have upheld their complaints and recommended to DCC that the bus stop be moved back.
We feel we are now being forced to raise our own petition to prevent this action and by SIGNING you are agreeing to our recommendation to either keep the bus stop in its new position or move it to a new location which will not cause the same to any other families in the village, let common sense prevail.

Seeing this kind of movement is honestly overwhelming because I honestly just wanted to enjoy my garden without feeling like I am on display for everyone waiting for the bus. It really feels like people are finally starting to understand that a little walk for someone else should not mean losing the only private space my family has left.

Ridiculous that this is even a debate again. Moving it back would be a nightmare for the residents.
THEY ARE SO LAZY. Walk the extra bit and let those people have their privacy back. simple as that.
Totally agree. My backyard is my sanctuary and I would be furious if people were looking in from a bus window every ten mins.
This is ridiculous. People can walk that far. Privacy is more important than saving a few steps.
150 meters is nothing. People are just lazy and dont care that they are staring into a family home all day. Leave it where it is.

Keep it where it is. Common sense needs to prevail here. No one should have to deal with that much intrusion.
